Our History
Founded in 1956 under the name Metin Akdurak Gümrükleme (Customs Brokerage), our company began its journey in the logistics sector with a service philosophy grounded in honesty, trust and customer satisfaction. With its knowledge and experience in customs clearance, our company quickly became one of the sector's most trusted firms and, by closely following the changing dynamics of trade, expanded its field of activity year after year.
In the late 1960s and early 1970s, we took an important step in international road transport by taking on the Turkey representation of Yugoslav trucking — one of the era's major international transport organisations. This process laid the foundation of our company's international logistics vision.
In 1972, with the first 15 own-fleet vehicles added under a government incentive scheme, we began transporting to Europe. Carrying out international transport with our own vehicles raised our service quality while enabling us to offer our customers more reliable, faster and more sustainable solutions.
In line with our growth objectives, in 1978 Metin Akdurak Beynelmilel Limited Şirketi was established, further strengthening our corporate structure. During this period, our growing operational volume and international collaborations steadily expanded our presence in European transport.
In 1982, with Makotrans founded in Italy, we began providing direct logistics services between Turkey and Italy. The establishment of Makotrans marked an important turning point for our European operations and, over the years, laid the foundation of our strong position in the Italian market.
With nearly seventy years of sector experience, today we continue to provide regular and reliable transport on the Turkey–Italy line with our own fleet, while also delivering full-load (FTL) and part-load (LTL) transport solutions to every corner of Europe. Thanks to our strong business partners, our experienced staff and our customer-focused service approach, we remain a trusted solution partner in the international logistics sector.
